Morning Motivation

“There are victories of the soul and spirit. Sometimes, even if you lose, you win.” Elie Wiesel

Morning MotivationRecognize the small everyday victories and celebrate them. Give yourself credit for your achievements at the end of each day. It may be something as simple as the fact you’ve done everything on your list today, or that you were on time for all your appointments. By celebrating your small victories you give yourself more confidence and stamina to tackle bigger challenges.

Morning Motivation

Find a way to acknowledge a victory today and celebrate that you have made it this far.

“There is no victory at bargain basement prices.” Dwight Eisenhower

“Victory is won not in miles but in inches. Win a little now, hold your ground, and later, win a little more.” Louis L’Amour

Morning Motivation

“In reading the lives of great men, I found that the first victory they won was over themselves…self-discipline with all of them came first.” Harry S Truman Quotes

Morning Motivation

So at least twice a day, take time to reflect on what you’ve done so far in that day that you are proud of. Maybe you’ve taken time to offer a kind word to a stranger, or you’ve made an important business call you’ve been putting off, or you exercised patience in a trying situation, or you took time to read to your child. All of these actions count. They have a positive impact on your self-image and strongly influence what you’ll do tomorrow and the next day

Be thankful for your small victories; they may be all that you have. Claire Gutmann

Morning Motivation

For many people, an excuse is better than an achievement because an achievement, no matter how great, leaves you having to prove yourself again in the future but an excuse can last for life. – Eric Hoffer

Morning MotivationMorning Motivation

STOP IT !!  There isn’t a valid reason. Please understand there is a difference between a reason and excuse. We all make excuses, yesterday I came of with a thousand excuses cloaked as reasons not to finish an article I am writing. I found other “very important” things I needed to do . Don’t get me wrong the things were on my list of things to get done but not that dag-on high up. I found writing out a list helps me to defeat the temptation of excuses. Now I just have to stop coming up with excuses not to write the list !

There is no such thing as a list of reasons. There is either one sufficient reason or a list of excuses. ~Robert Brault

Morning Motivation

The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. The gift is yours – it is an amazing journey – and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins. ~Bob Moawad

“We will either find a way or make one.” — Hannibal, Carthaginian General

Morning MotivationThis weekend was interesting for me. I’m not saying anything spectacular happened but things definitely started turning the corner. My website traffic increased, I received a new sign up into my MLSP system and life in general seemed to open up. Finally I see something happening. I used to wonder why people thought I was so strong, working 10 hours going to dialysis and raising 2 little girls. To me I just had to do until I could do better. Now I realize the strength in that mindset. I only realize it because I lost it. I began to look at the world wishing whatever, good or bad, would happen and cast the future is stone for me. I still feel that way more than not but I have began doing along with wishing. It seems that the doing is making more of a   difference than the wishing. Go figure that crap out because I can’t. In the mean while I will keep writing these posts and “DOING” while I wait for the wish fairy to come off of hiatus.

Are You Focused On Your Distractions ?

Morning MotivationToday’s Morning Motivation is about Focus and Distractions. We need to focus now more than ever. Why is that?

Just listen and observe. During the few minutes you spend reading this blog, your mind will probably wander to all corners of your brain, scavenging for the forgotten tasks you were supposed to do, things to pick up at the grocery store tonight, the lunch meeting you need to schedule with your business partner, the phone calls you have to return, your kid’s football game this weekend, and the list goes on.

All the while, external distractions are calling for our finite attention. Incoming text messages and phone calls. Voicemails. New e-mails demanding a response. New tweets on your Twitter feed. Facebook messages. Coworkers stopping by to ask a pressing question. Your spouse and/or kids asking for your help.

It can get so demanding you may just want to throw your hands up and say, “Argh! I just want to be left alone!!”

Short of going crazy and pulling all your hair out, there are ways to focus, in the here and now.

You can always find a distraction if you’re looking for one. – Tom Kite

Morning Motivation

“People don’t want their lives fixed. Nobody wants their problems solved. Their dramas. Their distractions. Their stories resolved. Their messes cleaned up. Because what would they have left? Just the big scary unknown.” – Chuck Palahniuk quotes

Morning Motivation : Letting Go To Begin Again

Morning Motivation

Morning MotivationToday’s Morning Motivation is letting go the things that we carry and hinder our growth.  I read somewhere that we inflict harm to ourselves far longer than the initial harm was being done. We don’t let go of things and they affect our lives much more than the initial experience. We begin this morning simply letting go. Yeah I know it isn’t all that simple, life is unfair but at least we should be fair to ourselves.

Morning Motivation

“Letting go doesn’t mean giving up, but rather accepting that there are things that cannot be.”

[yframe url=’http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=je9wfdfI16o’]

Morning Motivation

“There are things that we never want to let go of, people we never want to leave behind. But keep in mind that letting go isn’t the end of the world, it’s the beginning of a new life.”

Morning Motivation

Jack Kornfield: Letting go requires forgiveness and sometimes asks for a willingness to grieve or to release attachment to our point of view. We often believe that letting go means getting rid of something, but it’s not. In a sense, letting go is the same as love.
